Her marriage to the Prophet

She is the mother of the believers and the husband of the Prophet Muhammad. He married her after the death of her husband, Ubaid Allah bin Jahsh bin Riab al-Asadi, and she has a daughter from him, Habiba.

It was said that her husband, Ubayd Allah, apostatized from Islam to Christianity while she was in Abyssinia, and what is correct from what the investigators said is that the story of his apostasy is weak and not correct, for many reasons, including the weakness of its chain of transmission and the strength of the chain of transmission of what contradicts it from Abu Sufyan’s testimony that Muslims do not apostate, so if his daughter’s husband had apostatised, he would have witnessed that.

And Umm Habiba is one of the daughters of the Prophet’s uncle - may God bless him and grant him peace -. There is no one among his wives who is closer in lineage to him than her, nor among his wives is one who is more faithful than her, nor is he married to her while she is far away from her home.

The Prophet Muhammad sent to the Negus to propose to her, so she entrusted Khaled bin Saeed bin Al-Aas on her behalf, and the Negus gave her four hundred dinars, gave her a luxurious feast, prepared her, and sent her to Medina with Sharhabeel bin Hasna. She married the Messenger Muhammad in the year 7 AH, and she was 36 years old at that time, and the Qur’an mentioned about her: Ra bracket.png Forgiving, Merciful Aya-7.png La bracket.png (Surah Al-Mumtahinah, Verse 7).

She resided with the Messenger Muhammad and the rest of the mothers of the believers, along with her daughter, Habiba, the stepdaughter of the Messenger of God, whom he later married to Dawood bin Urwa bin Masoud Al Thaqafi.

her father's refusal

In the year 8 AH, before the conquest of Mecca, Abu Sufyan came to Medina to speak to the Prophet, asking him to increase the truce of Hudaybiyyah. An impure idolater »even though her father rejoiced at her marriage to the Messenger when he said: That stallion does not cut off his nose!!

She has imprints in Islamic history when she tried to help the caliph Othman bin Affan, her cousin, when he was besieged by the rebels, but they prevented her and prevented her from doing so.
