lineage
She is Arwa bint Abd al-Muttalib bin Hashem bin Abd Manaf bin Qusai, and her mother is Fatima bint Amr bin Aadh, and it was said: Rather, her mother is Safia bint Jundub bin Hujair
her husband and children
Ibn Saad mentioned and said: Umair bin Wahb bin Abd Manaf bin Qusai married her, and she bore him a student.
However, Abu Omar said: She was under Umair bin Wahb bin Abd bin Qusai, so she bore him a student, then Kilda bin Abd Manaf bin Abd al-Dar bin Qusai succeeded him, so she bore him Arwa.
And it was stated in the book of the lineage of Quraish that it was with Umair bin Wahb bin Abd bin Qusai; So she bore him Talib bin Omair, and then he succeeded her as Kalda bin Hashem bin Abd Manaf bin Abd al-Dar bin Qusai, so Fatima was born to him.
Islam and emigration
I differ in the Islam of Arwa as well as Atika, and there is no disagreement in the Islam of Safia, and Ibn Ishaq and those who followed him said that he did not deliver from the aunts of the Prophet Muhammad except Safia, and Abu Jaafar Al-Aqili mentioned her among the Companions and also mentioned her sister Atika bint Abd al-Muttalib, and Ibn Saad said: Then Arwa bint converted to Islam Abd al-Muttalib in Mecca and migrated to Medina. Some of them said: Arwa and Safia both embraced Islam from the aunts of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family. And Muhammad bin Habib Al-Baghdadi mentioned it in the names of the women who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, from Bani Hashem, quoting Al-Waqidi.
Some sources mentioned that she converted to Islam after her son Talib embraced Islam in Dar Al-Arqam. :"I followed Muhammad and surrendered to God", so his mother said to him: "The most deserving of whom you visited and supported is your cousin, and by God if we were able to do what men are capable of, we would have followed him and defended him". Your brother Hamzah converted to Islam.” Then she said: “I see what my sisters do, then I will be one of them.” Talib said: “I ask you, by God, if you would not come to him, greet him, believe him, and bear witness that there is no god but God, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” She said: “I bear witness that there is no god.” Except God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” Then she used to support the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with her tongue and urge her son to support him and carry out his command.
And in the Encyclopedia of Famous Women: When Talib grew up, he became Muslim in Dar Al-Arqam, then he entered his mother and told her of his conversion to Islam, and said to her: “Why do you not embrace Islam when your brother Hamzah has embraced Islam?” I ask you by God, except for what I embraced Islam and testified to his message.” She said: “I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” And she improved her conversion to Islam.
Al-Waqidi also narrated on the authority of Salama bin Bakht on the authority of Umaira bint Ubaid Allah bin Ka’b bin Malik on the authority of Umm Durra on the authority of Barra bint Abi Tajra, who said: Abu Jahl and a number of the infidels of Quraysh came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and they harmed him, so Talib bin Umair went to Abu Jahl and struck him, so they seized him and bound him, so he stood before him. Abu Lahab until he left him, and it was said to Arwa: “Don't you see your son as a student who has made himself a target without Muhammad?” She said: “The best of his days is the day he defends the son of his uncle, and he has brought the truth from God.” They said, “And I have followed Muhammad.” She said: “Yes.” Some of them went out to Abu Lahab, and he informed him, so he accepted until he entered upon her, and he said: “How amazing you are and your following Muhammad and leaving the religion of Abd al-Muttalib.” If it is correct, then you have been excused for your nephew.” Abu Lahab said: “And we have power over all Arabs who came with an innovated religion.” Then Abu Lahab left, and she said on that day:
Mr. Muhsin Al-Amin Al-Amili said: “A companion of an eloquent poetess who preceded Islam, so she embraced Islam in Makkah at the beginning of the mission and migrated to Medina.”
Sheikh Al-Amini said: “The aunt of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers be upon him and his family, and the owner of the famous protest against Muawiya.”
