Islam Abu Darda

On the day Abu Darda’, may God be pleased with him, became convinced of Islam as a religion, and pledged allegiance to the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on this religion, he was a successful merchant from the merchants of Medina, but after believing in his Lord

He says: “I embraced Islam with the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, while I was a merchant, and I wanted worship and commerce to meet for me, but they did not meet, so I refused trade and turned to worship, and I am not happy today to sell and buy, so I earn three hundred dinars every day, even if my store is at the door of the mosque, except that I do not tell you God has forbidden selling, but I would like to be among those whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of God

his struggle against himself

Abu Darda, may God be pleased with him, was a wise man in those great days May God be pleased with him used to say to those around him: “Should I not inform you of the best  your deeds, the purest of them with your Creator, and the highest in your ranks, and it is better than that you invade your enemy, so that you strike their necks and they strike your necks, and better than dirhams and dinars, the remembrance of God, and the remembrance of God is greater”

Flashes of his wisdom and philosophy

His mother, may God be pleased with him, was asked about what he liked best, and she replied: “Contemplation and consideration.” He would always exhort his brothers to meditate and say: “An hour of contemplation is better than a night’s worship.” You are from the diaspora of the heart.” He was asked about the diaspora of the heart, and he answered: “That I have money in every valley.” He possesses the world by dispensing with it.

Do not earn anything but good, and do not enter your house except with good.” And he writes to his owner, saying: “As for what follows, you are not in anything of this world’s supply, except that it was for others before you, and it will happen to others after you, and you have nothing of it except what you gave yourself, so prefer it to the one for whom you collect money.

” From your offspring, so that he may have an inheritance, you are only collecting for one of two: a righteous son who works in obedience to God, and he will be happy with what you have miserable him with, or a disobedient son, who works in disobedience to God, so you will be miserable for what you collected for him, so trust them with what God has of provision, and save yourself ». And he would say: “It is not good that your wealth and children increase, but that your forbearance increases, your knowledge increases, and that you compete with people in the worship of God Almighty”

When Cyprus was conquered and the spoils of war were carried to Medina, Abu Darda’ was seen crying, so Jubair bin Nafir asked him: “O Abu Darda’, what makes you cry on a day when God honors Islam?” Abu Dardaa replied: Woe to you, O Jubair, how easy it is for people to see God if they abandon His command, while it is a tyrannical nation that is visible, has power, and left God’s command, so it became what you see

And he used to say: “Seek goodness throughout your life, and be exposed to the whiffs of God’s mercy, for God has whiffs of His mercy that He bestows upon whom He wills of His servants, and ask God to cover your faults and secure your fears”

In the caliphate of Othman, Abu Darda became a ruler of the judiciary in the Levant, so he addressed the people one day and said: “O people of Levant, you are the brothers in religion, the neighbors in the house, and the supporters over the enemies, but why do I see that you are not ashamed?? You collect what you do not eat, and you build what you do not live in, and you hope for what you do not reach. The centuries before you used to collect and collect, and hope and prolong, and build and trust, so their collection became waste, and their hope was delusion, and their homes were graves. He smiled with blatant sarcasm: “Who will buy Al Ad’s estate from me for two dirhams?”

  Abu Darda's interest in science

He, may God be pleased with him, sanctified knowledge a lot, and linked it to worship, as he says: “None of you is pious until he is knowledgeable, and he will not be beautiful with knowledge until he is a worker with it.” He also says: “Why do I see your scholars go away, and your ignorant ones do not learn?? Except that the teacher of goodness and the learner are equal in reward, and there is no good in all other people after them.” And he, may God be pleased with him, says: “I fear what I fear for myself, that it will be said to me on the Day of Resurrection over the heads of all creatures: O Uwaimer, did you know? So I say: Yes, and it is said to me: So what did you do with what you knew?

Abu Darda's will

Abu Darda, may God be pleased with him, recommends good brotherhood, and he says: “Reproaching a brother is better for you than losing him, and who is yours for all of your brother? I did his right »

And he, may God be pleased with him, says: “I hate to oppress anyone, but I hate more and more, to oppress those who do not seek help from me except with God, the Most High, the Great”

This is Abu Darda, the disciple of the Prophet, peace be upon him, the first son of Islam, the companion of Abu Bakr and Umar, and men of faith
