The Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was born on Monday, the twelfth of Rabi’ al-Awwal in Mecca. When he was asked about fasting on Monday, he said: “This is the day I was born.” His birth was in the interior of Mecca in the Year of the Elephant, an important event that witnessed the beginning of his earthly journey.
It is unfortunate that the life of the beloved Chosen One ended on Monday 3/11/12 AH, when he was sixty-three years old. Upon his death, Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, entered and kissed him between the eyes and said: May you be blessed alive and dead, O Messenger of God. The Companions prayed over him in a group, and he was buried with all reverence.
