Mother of the Believers, Juwayriyah, daughter of Al-Harith, the eighth wife of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace

lineage

Her father, the great companion and master of Bani Al-Mustaliq, and his name is: Al-Harith bin Abi Dirar bin Habib bin Aadh bin Malik bin Al-Mustaliq bin Saeed bin Amr bin Rabia bin Haritha bin Khuza’a.

Her marriage to the Prophet Muhammad

She was slept on the day of al-Muraysi’ (the Battle of Banu al-Mustaliq) in the year five, and according to some scholars, such as al-Tabari, Khalifa, Ibn Ishaq and others, in the year six, as Ibn Hajar quoted them in al-Fath. Qais bin Shammas, so she wrote it on herself, and she was a beautiful woman who came to the Messenger Muhammad to help him to write it, and Mrs. Aisha described the entry of Juwayriyah to the Messenger on that day, saying: “By God, it is only that I saw her at the door of my room, so I hated her, and I knew that he would see from her, may God bless him and grant him peace Peace be upon what I saw” according to what Ibn Ishaq said in his biography, and Juwayriyah said: “O Messenger of God! I am Juwayriyah bint al-Harith, the master of his people, and I have been afflicted by a calamity that was not hidden from you. Should I pay for you and marry you?” She said, "Yes," and he said, "I did." When the people were informed, they said: “The in-laws of the Messenger of God.” So they sent what was in their hands of the prisoners, so there is no woman greater blessing for her people than her: He freed her marriage to the Messenger of God, the people of a hundred households from Banu Al-Mustaliq. And in another narration by Ibn Hisham, he said that the Messenger entrusted Juwayriyah with one of the Ansar after he left from the battle of Banu al-Mustaliq and ordered him to protect her. Four hundred dirhams. Her name was Barrah, and the Messenger of God named her Juwayriyah, because of the meanings of praise and commendation in the first name. She was twenty years old on the day of her marriage to the Messenger of God. She narrated seven hadiths on the authority of the Prophet.

Worship her

And she was praising her a lot, so it happened and the Messenger of God came to her for lunch while she was praising, then he went to his need, then he came back close to midday, and he said: “Are you still sitting?” She said: “Yes.” And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Shall I not teach you words that if they were equal to them, they would be equal to them, and if they were weighed, they would be equal to them - meaning all that you glorified -: Glory be to God the number of His creation, three times, Glory be to God, the weight of His Throne, three times, Glory be to God, His satisfaction.” Three times, Glory be to Allah, the ink of His words, three times.

Teach her

Juwayriyah memorized several hadiths, and the two sheikhs agreed on two hadiths, and Abu Dawood, Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah narrated to her. Narrated by: Ibn Omar, Ibn Abbas, Obaid bin Al-Sabaq, Mujahid, and others.

her death

She lived to the caliphate of Muawiya, and she died in Medina in Rabi` al-Awwal of the year fifty-six most likely. Marwan ibn al-Hakam, the governor of Medina, prayed for her, and she was buried in al-Baqi'.
