The lineage of Abu Obeida Al-Jarrah
Abu Ubaidah Amer bin Abdullah bin Al-Jarrah Al-Fihri meets with the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in one of his grandfathers (Fahr bin Malik) and his mother is one of the daughters of his father’s uncle. His mother converted to Islam, while his father was killed by an infidel on the day of Badr
He, may God be pleased with him, was tall, slender in body, and light in the hands of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, in the early days of Islam . He migrated to Abyssinia in the second migration, then returned to witness all the scenes with the Messenger , may God bless him and grant him peace
Battle of Badr
In the Battle of Badr, Abu Ubaidah made Abu Ubaidah confront Abu
Ubaidah, so Abu Ubaidah deviated from him, and when he targeted him more, he
killed him, so Allah revealed this verse. And they were their fathers or their
sons or their brothers or their clan, those He wrote faith in their hearts and
strengthened them with a spirit from it and admitted them to gardens with
rivers flowing beneath them, to abide therein, may God be pleased with them and
Those are the party of God, but it is the party of God who are the successful.”
[Al-Mujadala: 22 ]
Battle of Uhud
says : “When it was the day of Uhud, and the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, threw two rings of forgiveness into his cheek, I came running to the Messenger of God , may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. If it was Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah who preceded me, he said: “I ask you, by God, O Abu Bakr , to leave me, so I removed it from the face of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” The other one bent his other, and it fell, so Abu Ubaidah was the most honorable among the people
The Battle of Al-Khatab
The Prophet , may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah as a commander over three hundred and a few ten fighters, and they had no provision except a sack of dates, and the journey was far away. One date per day , and when the dates were empty, they began to hunt for leaf, crushing it, pouring it, and drinking water over it, not caring except for the completion of the task. That is why this battle was called the Battle of Al-Khambat

The people of Najran came to the Prophet , may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and asked him to send one to them, so he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said : “ I would have sent them - I mean to you – trustworthy, trustworthy.” You will see that his companions, may God be pleased with them, want to be sent not because they love the emirate or covet it, but so that the description of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, apply to them: “trustworthy, right, trustworthy . ” And Umar himself, may God be pleased with him, was among those who were keen on the emirate for this at that time. Rather, he became - as he said, pretending - that is, showing himself - to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace , from him, may God be pleased with him, to be trustworthy in truth
As Abu Ubaidah had a high position with Umar, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab,
may God be pleased with him, said while he was holding his breath: “If Abu
Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah was alive , I would have appointed him as successor
Battle of Yarmouk
During the leadership of Khaled, may God be pleased with him, the
Battle of Yarmouk, in which the Roman Empire was defeated, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq,
may God be pleased with him, died, and Omar, may God be pleased with him,
assumed the caliphate after him
reached Abu Ubaidah, so he hid it until the battle ended, then he
told Khalid about the matter, so Khalid asked him: “May God have mercy on you,
Abu Ubaidah, what prevented you from telling me when the letter came to you?” Abu
Ubaidah replied : “I hated to break your war against you. We do not want
worldly power, nor do we work for this world. We are all brothers in God . ”
And Abu Ubaidah became the prince of princes in the Levant
Abu Ubaidah's humility
H heard people’s conversations about him in the Levant, and their
fascination with the prince of the princes, so he gathered them and addressed
them, saying: “O people, I am a Muslim from Quraysh, and there is no one among
you who is red or black who prefers me with piety except that I wish that I was
in his fear”
And when the Commander of the Faithful, Omar al-Sham, visited, he
asked about his brother, and they said to him: Who? He said: “ Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah.”
And Abu Ubaidah came , and the Commander of the Faithful embraced him, then he
accompanied him to his house, and he did not find anything in it except his
sword, shield, and saddlebag. Omar asked him while smiling: “Did you not take
for yourself what people make ? ” Abu Ubaidah replied : “O Commander of the
Faithful, this informs me of what has been said”
The plague of Emmaus
befell Imwas, and it was later called the “Plague of Emwas.” Abu Ubaidah was the commander of the soldiers there. Except heading to me, for I have a need for you.” And Abu Ubaidah , the intelligent believer, understood Omar’s intention and that he wanted to save him from the plague. Whatever befell them, release me from your resolve, O Commander of the Faithful.” When the speech reached Omar, he wept, and those around him asked him: Did Abu Ubaidah die ? He said: “As if he had died.” The meaning is that if he had not died yet, otherwise he is inevitably going to die, as there is no salvation from him with the plagueUbaidah , may God be pleased with him, was in thirty-six thousand soldiers, so there were only six thousand men left, and the others died
